About
My journey began as a fitness instructor, where I discovered my passion for managing sports injuries and the crucial role exercise plays in pain-free movement. This passion led me to become a Physical Therapist. With over 25 years of experience, I've collaborated with athletes of all levels, sports teams, weekend warriors, and those aspiring to lead an active, pain-free life. I have a particular interest in working with adolescent athletes, a focus reflected in my master's dissertation.
Professional Development
In my pursuit of delivering the highest quality care, I consistently update my skills through ongoing Professional Development. Beyond clinical practice, I contribute to the academic sphere as a tutor in a post-graduate sports and exercise medicine program at the University of South Wales.
Qualifications and Expertise
My venture into the realm of physical therapy has been defined by an unwavering commitment to knowledge and a dedication to delivering the best possible care to my clients. The foundation was laid when I obtained my physical therapy qualification from the Institute of Physical Therapy & Applied Science. As my career evolved, a deep-seated desire to specialise and broaden my expertise emerged, evident through a spectrum of certifications, including a Licentiate in Acupuncture, Personal Training, Pilates, Biomechanical Assessment, and MSK Care during Pregnancy and Childhood. Additionally, I pursued a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine through the University of South Wales, a program that significantly deepened my understanding of sports-related injuries and the pivotal role of exercise in recovery and performance enhancement.
Recognising the pivotal role of education in my profession, I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education (PGDip) in 2019, also from the University of South Wales. This diploma equips me with the skills necessary to train future generations of healthcare professionals.
