Sports Physiotherapy

Sports Physiotherapy is a section of Physiotherapy that involves prevention, evaluation and management of injuries resulting from sports or exercise participation.

The aim of Sports Therapy is to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate injuries related to sport or physical activity. These injuries may range from recent ones to older, recurring, or even post-surgical conditions. The journey towards recovery encompasses a comprehensive approach, beginning with an initial evaluation and treatment to promote injury healing. Subsequently, it focuses on enhancing neuromuscular control to prevent re-injury and strengthening to facilitate a safe return to sports or physical activities.

Sports injuries can occur due to the higher demands placed on the body during exercise and repetitive load to the muscles, joints and bones.
These can be acute injuries sustained during a specific event or incident such as, knee and ankle ligament tears, muscle strains, shoulder dislocations. Sports injuries also include overuse injuries such as Achilles tendon pain, tennis/golfers elbow, swimmers/surfers shoulder, knee pain while running or hip pain when cycling.

We strategically incorporate a diverse array of manual therapy techniques at the core of our sports therapy treatments. From targeted trigger point release, dry needling, and precise instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) to specific muscle energy techniques (METs) and expert soft tissue and joint manipulation, we take pride in delivering the highest level of care. Tailoring these advanced manual therapy modalities to your distinct physiological requirements ensures a personalised approach to your recovery.

With our paramount objective of accelerating your return to athletic pursuits following injury or surgery. We work toward preventing further injuries by restoring or enhancing athletes' strength, flexibility, postural control, and endurance where needed. Our ultimate goal is to enable a safe and expedited return to sport.
